Social Media Feed Module Documentation

Introduction

Group Package 1 websites contain a mix of default verbiage and imagery, with your group's details. This is managed for you by Scouts Online. There is no ability change the settings.

If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

This module is only available on package level 2 websites. If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

Display Facebook and/or Twitter feeds on your website.

You may display your own social media feeds or feeds from UK Scouts or another social media account.

Use Cases

Setup a Social Media Feed

Display social media feed(s) on your web pages.

Display Facebook and/or Twitter feeds on your web pages.

To edit a module, follow these steps:

  • Add the Social Media Feed module to a user-definable page.
  • Click the settings below the module and override the default settings (see here) or add a module to your own pages, using the Page Designer
  • Enter your facebook page ID (not facebook group) to the Facebook Page field
  • Enter your X/Twitter account name to the Twitter @Name field
  • The Container Size refers to the area on the page where the module is placed. It controls how the module adjusts to different screen sizes on mobile and PC devices.
    For example,
    • If the module spans the full width of the page, select "Full Screen Width."
    • If your page displays blank space on the left and right edges on a large PC screen, choose "Limited Width Screen Width."
    • If the module is positioned in the Body of the page, and there is content in the Left or Right ares, select "Three Quarters Screen Width."
    • If the module is positioned on the left or right side of the page, opt for "Quarter Width."
  • The Container Style field offers cosmetic customisation options for the module. Experiment with these settings to find the style you prefer. See Fig. 2.
  • Set the Animation Fields as required
  • Click Save to keep your changes or Cancel to abandon your changes
  • Refresh your page to see the changes.

NB. If you make a mistake, you may reverse the change in the Admin/Admin Audit Trail
