Activities List Module Documentation

Introduction

Group Package 1 websites contain a mix of default verbiage and imagery, with your group's details. This is managed for you by Scouts Online. There is no ability change the settings.

If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

The Activities List module is available displays a list of Scouting adventurous activities with an info graphic.

This module is available on selected pages only, along with campsite and activity bookings forms.

It comes pre-packed with an extensive list of activities. You may personalise the style of the list, the activities listed and their info graphics.

Use Cases

The following panels show specific tasks. Click on a panel to see the procedures.

Change the Activities Displayed

Define which activities are shown in the list.

You may define which activities are shown in the list.

To do this, follow these steps:

Click the settings below the module and override the default settings (see here)
Select the Style of the list
Tick the Show field for all activities that you want to show
Set the Animation Fields as required
Click to keep your changes or to abandon your changes

Personalise the Lists' Appearance

Set the display style of your list and limit the height of the list.

The activities list can display as a vertical list or as image tyles.

To change the appearance of the list, follow these steps:

Click the settings below the module and override the default settings (see here)
Set the Maximum Height field to the maximum number of pixels to display, with a "px" suffix. E.g. 200px - See Fig. 1
You will see that the activities list shown in Fig. 2 now has a vertical scroll bar, to allow all activities to be viewed, but without having a long list on your web page.
Select the Style of the list. These are detailed below:
- Tiled + Links: A list of image with a hyperlink to the information page on Scouts.org.uk
- Tiled + Booking Button: A list of image. Clicking the image will add the activity to a campsite/activity booking form, if shown on the page. See Campsite/Activity Bookings.
- List + Links: A vertical list of image and text with a hyperlink to the information page on Scouts.org.uk
- List + Booking Button: A vertical list of image and text. Clicking the image will add the activity to a campsite/activity booking form, if shown on the page. See Campsite/Activity Bookings.

Add Your Own Activities

Use the Activities List module to display your own list of activities.

You may use the Activities List module to display your own list of activities.

To edit a module, follow these steps:

Click the settings below the module and override the default settings (see here)
If you want to use any of the standard icons, you could just tick that activity, and set the Name, Description, Sub-Description and Hyperlink
Alternatively, leave the Show field for all the standard activities unticked and use follow these steps:
- Move down the Activities list until you see a row of fields without any watermarked fields
- Set the Name of each activity
- Set the Description
- Set the Sub-Description. E.g. a price. This shows below or to the left of the Description in the list.
- Set the Image URL from the Virtual Path of one of your own images. See Admin/File Manager. If left blank a default image will be used, with the activity Name displayed within it.
- Add a Hyperlink for each activity
Click to keep your changes or to abandon your changes

NB. If you make a mistake, you may reverse the change in the Admin/Admin Audit Trail

Campsite / Activity Booking Forms

Use the Activities List to select activities to book on your campsite/campsite activity booking page.

You may use the Activities List to select activities to book on your campsite/campsite activity booking page.

To do this, follow these steps:

Open the Campsite Activities or Campsite Bookings page on the About menu. If you don't see these, you may need to switch the pages on in Admin/Page Management.
Click the settings below the module and override the default settings (see here)
Select the Style to either 'Tiled + Booking Button' or 'List + Booking Button'
Tick the Show field for all activities that you want to show
Personalise the Name and Description fields to your requirements
Change the Sub-Description top the price of the activity. E.g. £60 for 10. See Fig. 2
Click to keep your changes or to abandon your changes

NB. If you make a mistake, you may reverse the change in the Admin/Admin Audit Trail
